We are very proud of our radishes and grow them throughout the spring/summer season. They give a fantastic peppery hit to salads, pickles and are also delicious when cooked.
Reasons to eat radish:
Radishes contain both anthocyanins and phytochemicals both of which have anti-carcinogenic properties. They also contain vitamin C which works by helping prevent free radical damage to your DNA inside the cells thus preventing cancer. Both of these things will help to keep cancer at bay.
High in fibre and yet with a low glycaemic index, radishes are the perfect food for diabetics and those trying to keep blood sugars in check.
Radishes are a natural diruetic, helping to keep your kidneys healthy.
Radishes help to regulate the amount of bilirubin in the blood and increase the oxygen supply in the body helping to monitor the destruction of red blood cells that occurs when people are suffering from jaundice.
